About Cassie
Why I’m Running
Turlock is my home – it’s where I was born and raised, and where I am raising my own two daughters. Just like my physical home, I want our city to be a place where its inhabitants can feel safe and secure, and be nourished and supported as we grow. I want Turlock to be a thriving city where businesses and families can prosper, and we take care of our residents and our resources, both the natural and financial kind. I want to be your Turlock City Councilmember and will work for you to help make Turlock a city that works for us all.
Education
I graduated with highest honors from both University of the Pacific and Southern California College of Optometry. I returned to Turlock in 2015 to work as an optometrist and serve the health and vision needs of my community. One of my favorite parts of being an optometrist is solving problems for my patients.
My professional training has taught me to solve problems by asking focused questions, considering alternatives, taking decisive action, and following up until the best result can be achieved. I will take this same approach to help make Turlock a safe, sustainable, and more equitable place for all our residents.
Leadership
I am proud to be a mentor for the Stanislaus County Office of Education program “6 Cups to College” where I assist high school students on their journey to becoming first-generation college students. I am the current Treasurer and board member for Modesto Parent Participation Preschool. I spent several years as the Vice President for Advancing Children of Turlock, which supports local children in need of basic necessities.
For the last two years, I have spent my time raising my young family. Now I feel called to serve my community in city government.
