Values
Promote
public safety
Safety is foundational to a thriving community. All residents of Turlock deserve neighborhoods with safe parks, streets, sidewalks, and community spaces. Our city needs fully staffed fire and police departments so we can serve the daily needs of our residents. We need to ensure that all aspects of public safety are administered with respect for all residents.
REDUCE
HOMELESSNESS
Homelessness is a complex problem that needs comprehensive solutions. Our city needs to work with all our partners in the non-profit space and at the county and state levels to create long-term solutions that help our residents most in need. In doing so, we elevate the standards of living in our city and improve our public spaces and downtown area. I will work for solutions that address all areas of need for our unhoused population, including temporary housing, accessible medical and mental health care, assistance to reunite individuals with their support systems, and assistance with reintegrating into the workforce.
Conservation
Water is life giving, but in our area, it is not guaranteed. If our city is to thrive for generations to come, we must protect our water resources. Turlock needs a comprehensive plan to help businesses and residents conserve our water, including incentivizing water-wise landscaping, improving outreach on conservation practices, and discouraging water waste. Past leaders have worked to secure additional sources of water, and more work needs to be done to ensure our water demands don’t exceed our supply.
Community
Engagement
Turlock residents need access to information about what’s going on in city government. There is room for improvement in getting information on city programs and city actions to our residents and business leaders. Our city must meet people where they are – news of city happenings must be on the platforms our residents use and be in the languages our residents speak. I will support increased access to all aspects of city government and city services.
